The Dutch Geofiction Association (Genootschap voor Geofictie or GvG in Dutch) was founded in October 1984. It has approximately 50 members. The association intends to unite activities of geofictional nature, to act as a platform for information exchange among people who practise the hobby, and make geofiction a matter of common knowledge. The GvG organizes meetings twice a year and publishes the magazine 'Fantas' four times a year, for which GvG-members can send in articles about their countries and worlds or about geofiction in general.

What does a membership cost?
The amount of subscription depends on four factors:
 1) A member's financial situation: people with a minimum income and students can get a reduction on their subscription fee;
 2) The choice between a 'normal' and 'digital' membership: 'normal members' get the association's quarterly magazine Fantas sent by regular mail. 'Digital members' get Fantas four times a year by e-mail in pdf-format.
 3) The choice between manual or automatical transfer of the subscription fee: who lets his bank automatically transfer his or her subscription fee, gets a reduction of € 5,- (€ 2,50 for people with a minimum income or students). This reduction only applies to a whole year membership. (Note: this is possible at least in the Netherlands; other countries may have different systems. If so, please contact your bank or our secretariate for more information as to how this affects your membership fee)
 4) If you become a member after 1 July, pay only half the contribution for the rest of the year. In this case the reduction of the automatical transfer of your subscription fee doesn't apply (see 3).

Members of the GvG receive the magazine Fantas four times a year and can publish articles in it about their own countries and worlds. And of course every member gets invitations for the meetings (which are free for members) and other activities.
